Cecilia Olivera-Hillway
Cecilia was born and raised in Mexico City, Mexico. Her love for drawing and for all animals started at a very young age. After graduating with a degree in Graphic Design, she met her husband and moved to the US where she started a career in education that included being a Maker Space Associate and a Technology Specialist. At the same time, she has pursued a career in illustration. Her dual career path has been reflected in some of her personal work which combines art and technology to make unique robotic creations.
After taking a workshop with Joe Cibere, Cecilia discovered her fascination with watercolors. Before then, most of her work had been digital or black and white, but she found that watercolors feel more natural and imperfect, which gives life to the painting. She now lives in the beautiful Pacific Northwest with her husband, her cats, and a growing army of robots and illustrated characters. She is a member of the North Olympic Watercolorists (NOW).
